Kaworu is (not) gay

Kaworu is gay and not gay. That's what's wonderful about him. You can interpret him however the hell you want, I'm a hardcore kawoshin shipper myself, but at the same time this is Evangelion we're talking about. Shinji and Kaworu's relationship is questionable, but so are ALL of his other relationships.

When he says he was made to meet Shinji he's being totally literal. He's a bio-engineered honey-trap kaiju spy who fails his mission after falling in love with the mark. The other Angels don't appear to have gender which makes sense biblically , so Kaworu's gender is just a part of his human disguise.
