Gay comic batman
Batman's better when he's sexually-expressive. What annoys me, is "he doesn't have sex with them" Batman, the obsessively "preserving their virtue" and "too focused on his mission" Batman of repressive abstinence. That's unhealthy. Not that abstinence is always unhealthy, but the way it's written into Batman, when it is, that's unhealthy.
The Gayness of Batman: A Brief History
The Batman side of the equation is represented by Robin and the Bruce side by Chase. Batman Forever therefore positions Robin as something close to a business acquaintance while aligning Chase as a more personal companion. Making his escape, he forces the hero to choose between fulfilling his obligations as the Caped Crusader and protecting a loved one.

Would it have helped me to accept who I am sooner? Regardless, the queerness and homoerotic allusions in the world of comic books and superheroes provided a way into feeling and understanding for me. I might not have acquired superhuman strength or the ability to read minds, but I still see myself in those stories and the many, many shows and films that are now a fixture of our pop culture landscape.
